Maxima Placement/Tipping

Hi - I just received my Teardrop Maxima from PhishyBusiness yesterday AM and I have a couple questions regarding optimal placement:

It is currently on the sand (about 16" from a 250w 10k XM bulb). I placed a fairly flat, but small piece of live rock about 1/4" under the sand and placed the clam on top of that. The current is trong, but not direct - I use 4 maxi-jet 1200s on a wave timer - all pointed at the glass so direct flow is not hitting anything.

This morning it was tilted/tipped, but looked very good still. My questions are:

1) will the sand from the DSB irritate the clam? if so, once it attaches shoud I move it up into the rocks?

2) can I prop it up using some rubble so it is not on its side? It feels like it is starting to attach to the rock under it.

3) does this mean the clam is unhappy where it is, or should I give it some time to settle in?

Sorry - I am just a little paranoid and want to make sure I give it every chance I can to thrive in my tank.

Thanks,

Jason

Give him time to settle in-at least a couple of weeks. If the clam is not already attached to a rock, put some rubble or a flat rock or shell beneath him.As long as he looks healthy,I would let him be-he has been through a lot of stress in the last few weeks.I have one clam that seems to prefer being on his side.I just had to get used to it.

Thanks.

He is loosly attached to a small piece of live rock I placed beneath him. I gently propped up a little and put some rubble on either side to keep it upright. It is very loosely

I will leave it alone - I do not want to stress it anymore.

Thanks for he input.

Jason
