Maxspect G2-160 Replacement LEDs

I have been tring to figure out what the stock maxspect g2-160 led configuration is. I find plenty of custom setups doing a search.

I am not having the growth with these LEDs that I had with my T5 setup and wonder if there isn't too much blue.

Also for anyone that owns the maxspects, do you recommend the optics kit? My tank is a standard 90gal. Visually it seems to have plenty of light when the 30w whites are on. I run the 30w whites for 7 hours and the 3w blue/uv/whites run for 10.

I want to go back to the standard light setup or change to something that people know works well. The current setup has severely hindered the sps growth for some reason. All other tank systems, livestock, and parameters have stayed the same.

Thanks in advance.

How long have you been using it? 7 hours using the 30 watts seems way too long. Mine are only on about 20 minutes a day. Don't underestimate the LEDs. They're very strong lights and will most likely bleach your corals if you haven't acclimated properly.

I have been using this for about 8 months now. I have not played with times much and have set them the same as I had my T5s. Maybe I am running the 30w too long??? Could by why some of my SPS aren't the pink green blue they are supposed to be and are turning a rather brown grey white color. I will turn the 30w whites down to 1 hour and see if this helps.

I do not know the Maxspect fixture, but if it is anything lke the AI's the intenisty is adjustable. I started out running the light time schedule at the same time as my former fixture MH and CP except I started off at 15% of max for the whites and 20 % for the blue strings then slowly increased them 10% each week until all three colors ane now at 50% of max and at this all corals SPS, LPS and clams are doing great. Not to mention the color and brightness (at least to my eyes) is brighter then my older fixture... Coral browning could be many things but if everything is the same in your tank as before then I would probably say the coral browning is probably related to too much light to quick..

Just my opinion
Hope that helps and did not confuse.

Sorry about that I thought all Maxspect were dimmable. There is another way also that works very well if you are interested 4 to 5 layers of screening on top of the tank then remove a layer each week, Just another option.
