Maxspect XF250 with Apex?

So I am thinking of buying one Maxspect XF250 for my 125 gallon tank and retiring my two MP40s. My question is, should I buy the Maxspect XF250 with the new controller it comes with or should I buy the Maxspect XF250 pump by itself, the icecap module and control it with my Apex?

Any pros or cons to either setup? The latter method save me about $55 if I don't need anything additional like cables or mounts. Thanks

if it where me I would buy the new controller. I have 2 xf150s that and am going to get the advanced controller soon to control them, I also have an apex. I believe the new controller can do some things the ice cap cant???? plus I think it would be easier to do on the advance controller.
