may have over done the iodine

I have been adding Kent Iodine every day, but 2 capfuls for a 90 gallon tank. I have been losing zoos, my open brain is not opening much, a clam looks dead, and a plate has not opened in a few days.

What can I do? was it the iodine? I read the bottle wrong for sure.

I do weekly 20% changes with RO water.

Why are you dosing 10ml of Iodine daily for? I can't remember the last time I needed to put iodine in any of my tanks. And I don't remember any of the brands calling for a daily addition.

I had heard here that the zoos and GSP will grow better with an iodine supplement. I read the bottle wrong, it should have been that much weekly, and I was doing it daily for about 6 days

fwiw, I would not add iodine for zoo or gsp growth unless the zoo and gsp growth was noticable not happening like it should. Your tank is far too young in my opinion to determine that sort of thing out yet. personaly, I'd advise that you stop adding the iodine for that reason. zoo's and gsp tend to be fairly hardy and will grow fine as long as your current and lighting are good. If you notice after another 6 months that they are not doing well at all, I'd look towards other problems being present than an iodine deficiency. Also, as far as chemicals like that go, if you do not have a test kit for iodine, I would not advise you add any. Same goes for all other supplements, if you aren't testing for them, do not add them. some things we do not test for so for adding filter feeding supplements, obviously we do not have a "chromoplex" test kit or anything, but for all water parameters, like Alk, Ca, Iodine, Magnesium, ect. ect. ect. Test for them if you plan to add the supplements.

What were your levels before you started dosing and after...if you dont know then I would not dose it, if your going to dose anything test before and 12-24hrs later.. I dose 9 drops a day because ive found the levels get depleted, ive found the 9 drops a day keeps it level and doesnt fluctuate as with some of the weekly doses

RULE 1:
Do not supplement what you do not test for...

RULE 2:
If you hear a supplement will do something in your tank good.. Refer to rule 1

I would get on some water changes...
