Alright so I woke up this morning whilst the lights are still off, and I found my GBTA partially sucked up into the hydor koralia.. :( BUT as far as I've been reading posts and articles, I believe that it is still savable, because one important factor, it's foot is still pretty STRONG.. BUT my tank's water is a bit murky..

SO please do help me heaps on this, I know I am responsible for this, but how do I nurse it back to full health again? and what should I do to anemone-proof my tank? :D thank you so much and please I need HELP NOW!!! ><><><>< Oh and how much water should I change?? :D CHeers!!

we had our new large anemone get pulled into a sump and we had the hardest time getting him out... we had stacked rock and tried do a baracade to stop him from finding the overflow. good news is that he the right corner for his home... yours hopefully will have a good memory and avoid the overflow... they are looking for current. we also had one that got sucked into a power head as well. so try and be careful with them as well. good luck!

I had an RBTA suddenly walk too close to an overflow that led to my Refugium and the steady current sucked him in halfway and 3 or 4 chunks tore from the main body and ended up in the 'fuge before I caught the problem

after some alone time of about 2 weeks, all the small pieces healed and turned into "new" individuals.

WOW ARE YOU SERIOUS??!! turning into individuals?? WOW. I should place it in the blender then! haha, okay so I changed the water and the anemone's foot is stuck on an acan coral, so I took it out and placed it in a basket stuck to the glass... Hopefully it'll heal soon.. >< It doesn't look too bad tho...

Anyway is there any way to anemone-proof my tank? Like to close off the hydor koralias?

Any powerhead is an anemone trap waiting to happen. You can protect them with by making a cage around the intake with that craft-store mesh stuff.

Water changes, carbon, and pray.

Didn't you just post about a week ago that your anemone was wandering a bit lately? You should have protected your powerheads knowing that something was going on causing your BTA to walk. Now, your next task is to find out why your anemone was wandering in the first place and fix that problem.

WILL DO BUES! yes I did post it last week, and I totally forgot and didn't take note of the powerheads.. :( I will find the reason.. Gosh, praying is really important lol.. But I can't buy the metal mesh right? What type of material is it?

lol dude... -.-

Anyway cool I'll get the mesh ASAP.. Make a couple of water changes, and today, the anemone in the basket, looks so much better! :D It might heal in a week.. They're pretty fast healers I might say..

I know it sounds ridiculas but it has been suggested many times and works quite well. The nylon won't affect any params and neither will the zip tie.
