McCosker's super male passes away

I had a trio of McCosker's wrasses. For reasons unknown my super male McCosker's wrasse passed away. Since he is gone, the sub-male is displaying more vibrant colors, which I assume is her becoming the new super male. Would it cause a fight if I added a new super male? Should I add a female instead?
