Awesome! Thanks for posting the link! Fish can be surprisingly long lived. Even small species with short life expectancies in the wild can live much, much longer in captivity. Here's an article by Charles Delbeek discussing life expectancies:

Very cool. I’ve had arrowana over two foot back in fresh water days, though they could get that big in a few years.

Just amazing! It likes fresh figs- not frozen! Misled- did you mean you actually had arrowana in a tank you had that reached 2'? That's amazing as well...

Yes. It was fairly common back in the day. Problem was nothing much else could go in the tank. It also had to be covered with bricks on top. We used to feed them fresh baby mice. It was kinda fun to hold one over the tank and let them jump out of the water to grab one.
