Not Likely 2 Ever Grow Up
This is the latest addition to our tank - a juvenile Atlantic Blue Tang.
We have named him "Sparkie". Fellow geeks/dweebs/sci-fi efficianadoas will remember Sparkie as the nickname John Criton gave to Dominar Rygel XVI in the show FarScape.
This tiny tang (a whopping inch and a half, nose to tip of tail), swam around after aclimation, meeting all the residents. He swam up to the copperband butterfly and they were just hovering facing each other, when all of a sudden, the tang bit the butterfly on the nose!!! The CBB just sat there looking kinda dumbfounded, and the tang swam off... The CBB is a good 4", easily dwarfing the tiny tang. I was laughing so hard, I though I was going to wet my pants. BTW, the CBB wan't posturing - he didn't have his dorsal spines raised or anything.
Thankfully, this behavior hasn't been repeated.
