Just got back from seeing the tank they are starting at White Hall. Lots of "reefers" were there for the event. The tank is awesome. Can't wait to see how it looks in a year!

Thanks for joining JARC for our meeting at Union University. We will have to try another joint meeting again later on.

Here is our host, JR Kerfoot.

At the moment there are only 2 - 250 watt metal halides on this tall tank and one of the halides had just blown. The one halide didn't light the tank up enough to take any in tank photos. I'll see about going back over and getting some photos when the lighting is better. He is going to budget for more powerful lighting. I will see if we can get a follow up meeting a year or so from now to see the progress.

I don't see a protein skimmer. Is there one?
What do they have for in tank circulation? Closed loop, powerheads, Sea-Swirls, anything?
What does the "Clearwater" blue bucket do?
Someone should suggest to them to re-aquascape. It looks like someone just dumped the rock in the middle of the tank.
Also, I would suggest taking the airstones out.

I have a few more pics in our forum. Here is the 150 gallon sump. They do have a skimmer, but it is small for their setup.

One pump is a pan world that you can see in that photo. I don't remember what the other pumps are. Several people mentioned arranging the rock work at the meeting along with other things that should be done to get it setup right. I am not positive, but I think the clearwater container is the ATO.

It was originally setup to do freshwater. He did the saltwater conversion himself.

We made a lot of suggestions and he is open to a lot more.
