Sorry for the delay in posting these minutes. Been a crazy week.
Our friday night meeting 2/13/09, was a round robin discussion of where the members would like to see the club go. We talked about having big name speakers, or utilizing more of our own untapped resources in the club. Members mentioned a couple different people, who may be interested in speaking and will supply the contact information.
We also talked about doing a tank tour, possibly during the summer months. We could get a list of member's who would be willing to have people come see they're set-ups and do a little show and tell. We also mentioned about doing a virtual tank tour, but quite a few folks, thought it's better in person.
We discussed the range of experience in the club, from the new members to the more experienced. We shared mistakes made, close calls, and the "I can't believe that happened." I think everyone could visualize Jeff and Sean sweating bullets, when replacing that center brace!
We talked about having a new members raffle and adding more perks to the club memberships. While, all our encouraged to attend, it's felt there should be some benefit for being a member.
Sean shared that he's working on getting additional items for the library. Please remember, this resource is available for club member. This is an under utilized resource.
General questions about tanks, lighting, etc were asked and answered by the group. It's was also discussed that, there are different ways to get to the same goal, and what works for one, might be challenging to others. There is a lot of experience in the club, and normally someone has experienced what your going through and can assist.
Please add anything, I might of missed. We had a really good turn out and it was nice to see so many people interested in the direction of the club.
