Megaflow question

I'm setting up my 90 tomorrow and was wondering if I should use pvc glue where the return and drain pipes connect to the bulkhead?
pros... cons...

I'm pretty sure the directions say that you don't want to, so that you are able to pull them out to clean.

I agree with RTankster. Mine was a little loose so I used a little teflon tape.

I wanted to do the same thing with my megaflow. But dont do it. It will make it more difficult in the end. The problem, then, is that you have to realy tighten the bulkhead enough to prevent leaks, but not too much that the bulkhead wil crack! A very tricky area, so be careful.

I say NO to gluing the bulkhead onto the tank. I don't think that is what you are asking, though. If you have the slip fitting you don't have to use glue on the top portion, but you should glue in the pipe to the fitting on the bottom. If this were to come loose, you would have water everywhere, especially if the return line came loose. Make sure you have a union in the pipe below the bulkhead, and that way you can disconnect things for easy maintenance, etc.
