Melanarus and Peppermints

I have a good-sized Melanarus (4+ inchies) and am wondering what people's thoughts are on employing few peppermints for aptasia purposes, as like most people I tire of the Aptasia-X game.

I have two large cleaners that the Melanarus leaves completely alone, but I envision him taking after peppermints.

I have peppermints in another tank and very rarely see them, as they come out at night (and no more aptasia). Since the Melanarus is in the sandbed from 10p-8am, do you think the pepermints would survive?

Thanks for opinions. :fish1:

I have a Melanarus and so do two buddies of mine... we all keep between 3 - 6 peppermints with no issue... one of the guys has a few sexy shrimp even... which I wouldn't recommend, I think he's just lucky... so far.

Melanarus + Peppermints have been going in all our tanks for 6months.

The OP indicated he has two large cleaner shrimps, are they a concern with adding the peppermint shrimp?

Sorry if this is a distraction from the primary question. On topic, I have seen a large >150g tank with a couple of peps and a small Melanarus in it. I have no idea how long it housed them.

I have a blood shrimp in this setup for 8 months with the peppermints... no issues..

in the old system, I had one large cleaner and 6 peppermints (same six btw) for 1.5 years.
