Melanarus and shrimp?

i watched a melanurus drag a hermit crab out of its shell today at my LFS... but who knows.

Wouldn't you know it, I evidently have one of the more aggresive Hoevens out there. Just curious are there anymore Melanarus owners who have not voted?

I'm happy to report after three months with a male melanarus wrasse, there have been no issues with any of the four shrimp or dozen or so hermit crabs I have.

Also, my melanarus has no interest in thinning my spaghetti worm population. I think the wrasse solution to my spaghetti worm overpopulation suggested by my LFS was wishful thinking.

same for me - 3 months in, and my male mel hasn't bothered the cleaner shrimp once.

I had a 3in. female melanurus and a 4in. male xmas wrasse in with a pair of skunk cleaners. The xmas and cleaners got along well for a year but then I added the melanurus and she ate them both after their first molt. She didn't touch the snails or crabs however. seems like a crapshoot whether or not it will work for you.
