Hello
I am wanting to replace my sixline as he prevents any new fish from being added to the tank.
I have read about the melanarus wrasse, and I was wondering if anyone has pictures on them, info, how big they grow, ect.
He is about 5" now - pretty close to max. They are great pod hunters, so keeping them with a mandarin is questionable unless your tank is very very big. I had a planaria problem, which he has either completely wiped out or keeps them down so much that I never see them.
Mine eats nassarius snails (put 200+ in about a month ago), and has grabbed a few of the smaller crabs I have as well. He hasn't messed with any turbo snails, unless they fall over and I don't right them quick enough.
Overall, mine is a very active fish - always hunting and picking on the rock. A solid 10 in my books.
I have one that I bought as a juvenile. It has now turned into an adult and its coloring up very nicely. Great fish, no aggression, gets along with 8 other wrasses and its very active. PS: I run a bare bottom tank.
