Melanurus Wrass and Shrimps

Whats your experience with Melanurus wrass and shrimps?
Any difference if the shrimps are tiny or large or maybe with recently added shrimps?

Depends on the specimen you've got.

The bigger they are, the less likely to be consumed. Also, if they're in the tank before the fish, this also improves their odds.

Regardless, if we're talking about small shrimp (ie - anemone shrimp), they'll probably be eaten regardless.

I have both with mine - no issues. I did catch him picking up a snail and swimming into a rock to smash it. The snail was fine as the Mel dropped it.

I've had both a tiger pistol and skunk cleaner with mine, but they were both in the tank before the wrasse and were a decent size. He never made an attempt at either one.

I keep a blood and sunk with mine. I have had them all over a year no issues, but the shrimp were added before the melanurus. Its funny to watch the cleaner shrimp lunge at all the wrasse, hoping they will allow the shrimp to clean them.

No issues here with my medium sized cleaner, who was in the tank first. My Mel doesn't even look at him. However, the Mel does like to kick the crap out my CB Angel from time to time.
