I have a Melanurus Wrasse and he leaves my clams alone

does he eat your snails? a poster on another one of my threads said they kill snails

From what I have read they are 100% reef safe. I am thinking of getting one myself so I'll tag along for first hand accounts.

they are reef safe and sometimes eat planaria infestations.

just got one, and its awesome! beautiful coloring but im sure itll get a lot better once it gets older. i got it for 27

I keep a juvenile melanarus in my frag tank. He is a great purpose fish. He picks at all the frag plugs and eats any parasites that may have made it into the tank. I have kept some clams in there as well and he never has picked at the clams. Great fish IMO.

I agree, i have one and 3 clams no issues.
