yes, Balance does something similar to kalkwasser/Aiptasia-X/Joe's Juice... it raises the local pH around the critter... enough to kill it. In the case of kalkwasser, it's calcium hydroxide... while Balance is a blend of sodium and potassium hydroxide (stronger bases than calcium hydroxide). I've heard that Balance is also useful in killing off hair algae!
