Memphis Frag Swap 2011

Thanks for the frag swap announcement guys. Details are as follow on our flyer: Thanks!

205 miles to Atlanta, GA 391 miles to Memphis, TN I bet a frag swap in Atlanta would be 10x better too!

websiteworld: FYI, your club requested and posted on our website about your frag swap earlier this year. We were happy to do so. Yes, I am sure most thought that was too far to drive, but if they happen to be in the area they might have attended. We asked for permission from your club to do the same and received it.

However, no one posted any negative comments on your frag notice from our club nor talked about bigger or better ones elsewhere. You can simply not attend, or wait for a larger one in Atlanta, but I don't think there is a need to slam ours.

Nobody is "slamming" anything, I was "discussing" hence "discussion forum" that Atlanta is much closer as are other places, and just because Memphis is in the same state, it's too far to drive, and not realistic.

400 Miles Round Trip = 140.00 in gas
400 Miles Round trip = Overnight stay in a motel

200 Miles Round Trip = 70.00 in gas
200 miles round trip can be pulled off in one day w/o overnight stay.

I don't understand how you can transport frags 400 miles round trip in a car anyway.

Good luck with the swap, guys - nice flyer!

Memphis might as well be another State, actually well into another state.

The Memphis area reefers asked if they could post the details of their frag swap, as we did of them, and we obliged, as they did for us. Believe it or not, people do drive 400 miles for a frag swap. "In the words of the wise rabbit, Thumper, in Bambi: if you can't say something nice..." well, you know the rest.

EDIT: I got ninja posted by you both, but yeah, what Rudolph said...

I'm not sure how an 8hr drive would be any worse than shipping coral cross country. I would guess even a 16hr round trip with a water change in between would be easier on them than a shipping company's treatment.

I'm glad we're posting about other club's swaps in our forum. Some of those people travel really far distances to attend our swaps and I appreciate being given the opportunity to know about theirs!

Yes, I went to Nashville's swap this year and picked up some great deals on corals and some equipment. It is kind of like having 20 fish stores at one place. I travel alot and I wish I had been in the Knoxville area during your frag swap.:fish2:

Our swap isn't huge but we have some great vendors and never let it be said that ETRC doesn't have a good time!
