Merry Christmas to all...

I just returned from my daughter and son-in-law's home for the first of what I hope will be many Christmas Eves together (at their home where they do the cooking). His parents were there as well as their siblings and my parents for three generations. Maybe a fourth in a year or two? What a great time for family. Time to fill the stockings and go to bed.

Take the time to realize what you have and enjoy while it's here.

Got to go...it's time for a shot of vodka. I'm starting to dose vodka (carbon) in the tank to help reduce phosphates/nitrates in order to get a handle on some algae that's starting to get a leg up on me. Also hope to see some nice improvement in SPS coloration based on these posts. There are plenty of posts on the Reef Discussion board and others about the benefits of this. I'll keep you posted and try to keep up on pics of the changes (that I hope to see).

Be careful with the vodka! I tryed it it didn't work out too good for me. i started very slow less than a teaspoon for my whole 350 gallon system and incresed it by a teaspoon every 3 days. i eventually got to 5 teaspoons a day before i saw a difference in my nitrates. then i got a BIG and i mean BIG cyano outbreak, the colors on my LPS started to fade, and i lost my big squamosa clam.

You may have a different outcome than i had but i would be very careful with that stuff.

Merry Christmas to all, I hope that you get what you wished for.
Paul I would drink the vodka then look at your tank, I bet after a few vodkas the tank will look much better.

Merry Christmas!!!! Paul I'm looking forward to hearing how the vodka dosing works out for your tank........don't add too much at once or your fish may start looking like your avatar.
