Yep, i really don't understand the want for NW's anymore. You can just save a few bux and cut down teh impellers very easy to basically toothpics and tie some mesh on there and vualla, whats the difference, sure you have to diy venturi, but thats no brain surgery! lol, any takers on this comment?
I'm beginning to think NW's are just a waste of money....lol, IMO, everyone is meshmoding them anyhow, so there is no difference between this impeller and a NW impeller. As long as the volute is large it should be the same thing.
I like how none of the so called experts have commented. A NW pump is the same as many cheaper pump's. Good stuff. The impeller's are different, but there an easy mod to do.
Impur hit it on the head in his first comment I think. Its not so much the impeller that I look at, but the size of the volute. The needlewheel pump typically have a larger volute because they are designed to mix the air in there. Not always though. I just keep an eye on the size of the volute and the intake and output of the pump if I'm looking for an aerating pump. The style of the impeller is irrelevant.
Josh, i think i would agree. For instance the genx, oceanrunner, sedra, there all the same, besides the impeller. So why not get the cheaper version and mod the impeller yourself. lol, never again will i buy a NW.
