looks great. now put down the camera and get the bird a sanding perch so he can polish his beak lol

also look up info on the rule of thirds and DOF. both topics can help those pictures alot if applied correctly

a slightly larger dof on the bird would bring that eye into focus a bit better and draw you away from the center and more into the picture.

thanks, and yes its a blue and gold,the camera is a nikon d40. the only thing i did was the auto fis thing.and fragmoster thanks for the tips. ill be sure to check that out
