Metal Halide Ballast Heat.

Do the electronic metal halide ballasts give as much heat off as the magnetic ones?

Definitely less, but they do still get hot.

my 250 watt electronics don't really get hot. I mean they just get warm you can still touch them.
I also have a magnetic but it is in a built enclosure so I can't really say.... but it doesn't get that hot then again it is a 70 watt halide.

Thanks man, I guess I will have to get some of those. These magnetic put off lots of heat. Damn, Me and my heat issues....

Dead quiet, you don't know they're on.

lol. That's weird. I guess for MH I've only experienced my 2 coralvue electronics, so I haven't experienced the humming or too hot temps. Mine stay warm to the touch, and dead silent. The only thing that makes too much noise on my setup is my chiller...

Yeah the quiet operation is awesome on the elctronics.
My magnetic humms like crazy, it gets a little annoying at times.
