I should have looked at this website since it has a metal halide and ballast cross reference chart...I wish i saw this before i bought my AB bulbs...Perhaps I will just save the bulbs until i get a electronic ballast....

Shoot...I think I will probalby look for electronic ballast...A lot of spectral analysis charts show AB 10k bulbs being pretty good in output...

What are some of people's prefered electronic ballast...I have been considering Reef Fanatic or Blueline...

Or if there is a cheaper alternative in the electronic ballast market I would not mind that those tips either...

Do not cut yourself short on electronic ballasts, get IceCap. It will save you a lot of headaches.

what's wrong with the other brands...they look pretty promising and Sanjay has used them on most of his tests...?

IMO for starters there is no matching IceCap's response for customer service, warranty and repairs if necessary.
On the technical aspects other bransd have shown increased frequency and electrical noise interference requiring shielded cable, also showing increased temperature and shorter life.

I second that, go for the IC ballasts. They are very well built, excellent support and service.

I have the IC ballasts with 250 W AB's and have been very happy with them. They are a true white (at least with my combination) and I have gotten good growth with them.

Couldn't have said it better myself. My experience has been no less then stellar with them and their products, not to mention their total commitment to this industry.

Great refrence

I had two of the their first MH ballasts that came in the VHO housing. They were tuned specifically for 6.5K bulbs. Icecap tuned them for 10K bulbs for free when they were way out of warranty.

I have three of the new 250s. They work great.
