Does current make a halide fixture for the 12g aquapod, like the ones they have for the 24g... I can't seem to find any info on it, although I do remember hearing about them..

Let me know, thanks!

I believe the smallest Sunpod is 16.5" across I think, which maybe too big for the 12g. You may have to go with a poseable lamp type like the JBJ Viper.

I think you shoudl go with power compacts. That is what I do on my AP. You wll probably get a way overheated tank if you add a hailide.

I want a halide. Not only for my zoanthids and palys (there coming from under 400w MH, but I would like to put some SPS in it aswell...)

I am not worried about heating issues... I just want to find a light that fits my 12g aquapod, a fixture preferably.

then you should take some initiative and check the members section i know they have some 12g's in there with fixtures.

Honestly your responses are making you sound a bit lazy.
I mean does a viper count as a fixture in your book?

I have searched and searched. What makes you think I have not? I am simply asking on this thread, to see if anyone knows of one, BESIDES THE VIPER, as I don't want a clip on Metal Halide.. in my house.. it won't last.. Since I did not find a 12g aquapod fixture thread, I asked here... Basically what I got was a bunch of smart alic remarks and suggestions that had nothing to do with what I was asking... I think I remember why I stay out of NR.com now, somethings clearing up...

I appreciate the link ENraged, as this is what I was looking for, but could not find links on the search here on ReefCentral, or google, as is why I started this thread. It doesn't look like they sell the fixture seperately, but I did email them asking.

Thanks again for the link...

Sorry, but the clip on light is something I definately cannot go with. It's either going to have to be a fixture that fits, like the one in the link provided by ENraged, or something I am going to have to retrofit into a custom canopy, as I would like to keep the PC's aswell for actinic supplementation.

i have retrofited the 70 watt halide into my hood and the tank temp usually doesnt go above 82, but i also keep the front lid open during the day. Also i have the nc dx and what i did was take the back bulb out and put the fixture there, and i would also change out the front pc bulb to an actinic. Make sure that you always keep the fans on though because one day i forgot to turn them on and the splashgaurd started to melt. Hope this helps.

the easiest way to do it is to buy a retrofit kit from illuming.com
