I have an oddly shaped aquarium. It is a 70 gallon corner bowfront with a flat back. I plan on putting together a DIY dual MH setup. Water surface to substrate is about 22-23 inches. I was planning on 250 watts per MH bulb, but 175 watts seems to be cheaper, plus I am worried about heating the tank too much. Can I get away with a dual 175 watt set up and supplement with 2 VHO actinics of 95 watts each? I want to be able to keep some softies, sps, frogspawn, and maybe some clams.

if you want to use 175, look at the Iwasaki Aqua2 1400k bulbs, they put out more light than most 250w bulbs.
