I have been looks at THIS
on ebay. I know nothing about Odyssea, so if any has any tips of anything, that'd be very helpful.
I have a 46gallon tank, so with those lights I would have about 8.26 watts/gallon whereas i have only 4.17 now with PC's.
With that price it seems a bit unbelievable... but the seller seems to have good feedback.
Another thing i'm worried about is it appears the halide is centered on that fixture, would that be a problem since is would be directly over the brace of the tank ?

Thanks !

Seems very cheap, but your right he has good feedback so thats a good sign. The Center brace is a mojor issue though. Its not a great idea to put a MH light over a plastic Center Brace.. Some people have cut the brace out and replaced them with Clear Acrylic. But that is a little bit of a Job and you would need to drain some of the water out of the tank.

check out this web site they can probably beat that price and give you free shipping to, these are new lights and they are odyssea go to www.aquatraders.com i'v been looking at these lights and just havent bought one yet. Aquarium imports in hoover also sales these lights, also so you can probably call them and they can give you some info about how good of a light they are. but i can tell you the web site is cheeper than Aquarium imports. if you buy one let me know how good they are.

Odyssea brand MH light fixture has a real poor reputation. You can search Reef Central for a lot of horror stories about them starting a fire.

Aquatrader's prices are good, but they are known to be very hard to get in touch with for a customer service.

As 8Ball pointed out, it's not good to have a halide lamp over your center brace.

If you have a canopy over your tank, I recommend getting a retrofit kit or parts from places like hellolights or diyreef.

How about something like these from diyreef.com?

or

You can go with a 14K or a 20K bulb without any actinic supplement or a 10K bulb with a VHO actinic lamp kit like this one:

Over Flow

Over Flow

Check out that 1400 GPH overflow box. I can not figurue out if that is a built in syphon hose of an AIR line.
I am going to order one so I don't have to choke down my circulation pump and create a "Gulf Stream" in my tank.

Let's see 1400 gph divided by 46 gallons would be over 30. If you used maximum flow you could create a "Jet Stream". Hope you're planning on a pump with less flow rate than the overflow or some really fast swimming fish!
