So I have a question that the last 2 hours of searching online hasn't been able to answer. I found 2 metal halide fixtures for sale on kijiji for $40. They were parking lot lights originally. I would like to use them for my tank but I don't know if the bulbs will be interchangeable with the fixtures. The style of bulb in them now is the wide center bulb and most reef bulbs are cylindrical. If the base is the same size and the wattage is the same will the bulbs work regardless of the shape?
