Metal toxcicity?

I'm interested in getting an octo and was wondering if they were more sensitive to heavy metals than over inverts. I've been using well water on my reef tank that contains mostly acros and montis and was wondering if this water would also be ok for an octo.

I doubt you'd have any luck keeping an octo in there, sorry:( Most people can't even keep an octo succesfully in dechlorinated tap water. RO/DI water is preffered. Octopus are more sensitive to heavy metals than any other inverts, the slightest bit of copper will kill them.

Octo's are extremely sensitive to heavy metals and care should be taken in introducing them into a tank supplied with well water. On the other hand I have had many octopuses and Sepia O. cuttlefish without RO/DI water with no problem. In fact I have just hooked up my first water purifer recently. My current octo seems fine with my city water. This doesn't mean yours would be O.K. in well water. I highly suggest a water purifer for your system, it certainly wouldn't hurt!

This is what they look like when they are really big.
Have no idea how old she or he is.
I love my Octopus.
