Meth Blue question

Does anyone know how long meth blue remains active? The bottle (Kordon) doesn't say anything about re-dosing. The application is this, using it to prevent fungus on a nest. What I'm wondering is if after 3-4 days it's still doing it's job, or does it need to be supplemented? In this case I have had a nest in there for 3 days, I'm pulling it for hatching in a clean tank tonight. I have 2 more nests I want to move to the meth tank, don't know if the meth is still active or if I should empty the tank and start fresh. Trying to conserve water here, otherwise I'd just automatically change it

For those wondering what the heck I'm doing messing around with the stuff anyway... I'm experimenting So far it's looking good, had my best hatch since July last night

I'm using Meth, but not for fungii, but as a general antiseptic/antibacterial on newly hatched babies. Regular dose for the first day only, so far, so good.

At the lab I use a dilute solution of copper sulfate to disinfect spawning mops after I pull them from the breeding tanks. Seems to work quite well.

The whole idea of using anything with the word copper in it makes me nervous.

It's definately something for which you pay attention to the small details, like dilution and duration of the dip For an interesting comparsion of with and without disinfecting, one of my boss's research projects involves wild collected eggs (strip spawning in the field). The protocal for these is to not disinfect the eggs, unlike the lab spawned fish. Interestinly, but not suprisinly, the wild caught eggs do not enjoy as good of a hatch rate, and are more prone to problems like hydroids in their rearing buckets.
