metro side effects?

Are there side effects to feeding metro infused foods that I should be aware of?

My kole now brwathing heavily.

I've only dosed it; never used it in foods. However, I can tell you that when you dose it... sometimes certain fish have a very negative reaction to it. They will lay in the corner, breath heavy, just seems very "harsh" on them. When this happens, I promptly remove them from treatment. Again, this only happens to certain fish... others I have treated and seem fine.

I also believe there has been some research linking metro to liver damage in fish. Maybe in the morning I'll try to find a link for that.

Wonderful. Eveyone says it works great for tapeworm so I fed it. May have been better off with just the tapeworms afterall lol

Also you can't control dosage when you mix it with food so you don't know how much the fish might of ate.

I dose it on every new fish I get. Haven't had any issues with it. I usually give fish a couple days to get used to their qt before I start. Currently have a potters leopard wrasse that will be done tomorrow, & a yellow purple wrasse, neon dotty back, cleaner Gobi in a separate qt mostly done with treatment as well. & many before them.

I always dose, feeding is dangerous.

Thanks for the advice. I'll start dosing it if everyone looks okay today. The lineatus isn't eating, so this will probably be the best option anyway. He's got major swim bladder issues going on.

Hopefully Newsmyrna80 will chime in; I believe she has soaked food in metro.

I'm going to continue with my plan to dose metro mostly for the lineatus' sake. However, after metro I am going to dose prazipro. Despite what I have read in other reefcentral threads, metro is not meant to treat tapeworm

I dosed six spoon fulls of seachem metro to the 55g tonight. So far so good. I am planning to do another round on Wednesday.

How strong do you dose it in the water column? Instructions said 1-2 spoonfuls for each 10g. Do you do one per 10g, 1.5 per 10g, 2 per 10g?
