MH Ballast Question

I recently acquired a 400w metal halide light setup that I am planning to put over my 75 gallon reef tank if all goes as planned. My questions is, does anyone know if I can run (2) 200w bulbs in lieu of (1) 400w bulb safely?
Please help as I do not want to burn my house down!

Your ballast is made specifically to fire/ignite one 400W bulb and then provide current to keep it lit. Although overall wattage may sound right, unless specifically designed to do so, the ballast would not be capable of firing multiple bulbs.

Also, I am not aware of any 200W MH bulbs on the market. The closest in that range is 250.
