i use xm 10 k bulbs for growth and color for growing frags out.the par from what i remember was only second to iwasaki.i tested many brands and my best results as of now comes from xm 10 k.

Ok so the EVC are not that good then? Then I think Im goint to go with two XM 10k and one 20k.

All of the lamps mentioned are good lamps. I would look around at pictures members tanks (who use these lamps) and see what you like as far as color and go that route. It can get confusing when you get all tied up in par values. :lol:

Ive been running the XM 250 for two years and like them so I will be replacing them again with the same bulb. They dont look yellow to me at all. Just white. If your tank is young and you have smaller corals or frags and looking for growth then I highly recommend go with 10K over the higher K bulbs at least to start.

So how much differance is there between the EVC and XM 10k, Will it be something real noticeable.

i still say go for the 2 xm 10k on the sides and a 20k in the middle. your going to be running actinics anyways. so you know you wont need more blue.

just be sure the xms are more white than yellow.
