MH Height...?

I apologize for the redundancy and I know this has been posted before. I was curious how high most of you keep your light fixtures above the water line? I have a SLS Maristar with (2) 250W MH and (2) 54W T5 Actinics. Right now I have the fixture about 14" above the top of the glass and about 15" above the actual water level. Too far, too close? Opinions needed and appreciated.

Again, sorry for posting repeat questions, but I could not get the search function to cooperate with me.

IMO you should be ok at 8~10" above water line.....

IMO lower the fixture to about 8" unless you have splashing fish then stay about 10"
