i just finished moving my tank earlier this week and when i went to fire my MH the right side would not fire. i replaced the bulb and that did nothing so the only thing i can think of is the ballast. any other thoughts?

Electronic or magnetic? What size?

its a custom sealife wiht dual 175's i'm not sure if its magnetic or electronic but i do know its a pulse start.

did you try the bulb in the other side?

no but i put a brand new one in

I would try to swap them, if that doesnt work I would look for connections & probably look tward the ballast.

Are they quick disconnects? I would swap around the lamp cables and see if the right ballast can fire the left light(be sure to allow time to cool down). If it can, I would say your new bulb is bad or bad connection on right side. If it can't, then I would suspect the right ballast is bad. If the left side ballast can fire the right side light then I would suspect a bad right side ballast. Did that confuse you enough

it was a problem with the switch, the wire was loose inside the case.
