Forget what I said about the cord. It looks like the reflectors come with one so you won't need the "lamp cord" option. Just to be sure I would contact them. The girl that runs the store will reply to you by tomorrow at the latest, they seem to be the cheapest around and have great customer service.

It comes with eye bolts so I would say just screw an eyebolt to the top of your canopy then use a mini carabeaner to connect the two. maybe put chain inbetween if you need to lower it (which you probably wont') Also if you don't have a controller to control the on and off you might want to get a timer.
It should work just read to make sure it can handle the amps
450w/120v = 3.75 amps of draw
If you have the money I would suggest getting an ACjr. to handle everything. They are around $200 and can control your control your temp lights pumps etc... also can monitor temp PH and orp
I understand one thing at a time but if you have some extra cash lying around since your getting one light setup I would definitely do IT!!!
Cool thing is you can program it using your computer and it can send you text messages ( if you hook it up) incase something is out of wack.
If you want to program it with your computer. There is a way to set them up to get text messages. I use the ACIII pro which has some more features including a built in webserver.
I don't think you necessarily need all that, If you are just wanting a controller to turn things on and off and control the temp of your tank then the Jr. I listed will do the job. You can always upgrade or add on things later
No controller. I have to heal up a little bit before I get that. One step at a time. If I see I need one right away, I'll make the order.
How would you recommend acclimating my corals to the new light? Debbie at DIY Reef suggested layers of fiberglass screen and removing them one at a time over a course of days.
I hear ya. I don't do much acclimating. I would say if you want to cut your lighting period in half and then just just up it to full in 2 weeks time. If you put all the SPS in the middle i think it will be fine. Some people put screens or egg crate over the tank to do this also.
Would it matter if it were sitting at an angle? I still don't know it it will fit between the stand and the wall. On the other side of the aquarium is a door. If I took out the water, I could scoot it over a bit. Seems a lot of work.
