MH LIGHTING & T5s

I have a 300gal that I am setting up it will be mixed I have 3 400watt MH 20000k lights and my lfs says I should put some t5s actinics on it also . looking for some more advice on this.

IMO, it's a matter of personal preference. Lot's of people go with just MH, and probably lots more have actinic supplement. I've always liked actinic tubes with my MH, not only for the additional coral color-pop, but also because I like the "all actinic" flourescent look that you get when you have the actinics on by themselves before and after the MH's.

I use both on my larger display.

+2 I also think it is good to have the actinics run for a while before the halides kick on to aclimate the corals that the lights are coming on.

It might be blue enough you don't need them, and you are already running some serious watts.
