One of my MH ballast seems to be running brighter than the other. Both are identical pfo 175w magnetic ballasts. At first I thought it was my bulb but when I swap ballast, sure enough one was brighter than the other. what's wrong? and is there anything i can do?

thanks

Phu, you could have a capacitor going out or changing value. open them up unplug and swap the caps. then you will know if cap. (cheap to replace ) or ballast.

From what little I know about capacitors is that they hold a charge. So I would be careful changing those out. Discharge them, then swap them out.

That would take the fun out of it.lol

PS. Johnstone supply, grainger a couple places to look for caps. Dave from ETRC may have some if you contact him, think he bought some off ebay. good luck.
