MICRO BUBBLES a gogo

OK...I am expereincing MICRO bubbles in the new set-up I built. It seems that 1100 gph is to much flow for my 20Long sump to handle and effectively get the bubbles out. There are 6 baffles spaced about 2.5 inches apart, but the micro bubbles still get to the pump chamber. They seem to be coming from the overflow pipe dumping into the rock chamber. I have 2 pipes coming from the overflow, 1 from the fuge, and one from the skimmer all dumping into the first chamber so no chance of a micro filter sock helping.

Would a deeper Sump help, I have a 29g I could turn into a Sump/fuge, replacing the seperate sump fuge set-up I have now.

IME you should be only running 500-600gph (net) max. flow in that size sump.

yea, you should put a ball valve on your return and slow it down. This will allow bubbles to get out when traveling the baffels.
