micro stars? other starter stuff

If all goes well, I might have my LR in the tank on Thursday. I am adding some bacteria via cycled water and live sand and LR.

I was on aquabid and saw things called microsatrs advertised. Are these something I should have? I guess what I could really use help with is what make sure I put in the tank and when..... I don;t want to overload and tax the low amount of bacteria in there to start, but I do want the algae as under control as possible.

I was thining:

1) snails..... small cowries, maybe. Is another kind good to get? Maybe 1 big cowrie?

2) something to stir up the bottom. Any suggestions?

3) some amcroalgae to go in my refugium. Does any one have any for sale?

Is there anyone in the club that likes to deal this kind of stuff. I thought Billsreef, but I don;t think he has cowries (if I have to get snails, the better looking ones probably won't upset my wife as much:)

Thx.

Bill (Billreef) probably can get you everything you will need. He's a LIRA member, a good guy and brews a mean beer.:)

Cowries don't tend to be too picky about what they eat, I'd skip them and go with things like turbo's, astreas, etc. for algae control.

Bill, if all goes according to plan and the LR, live sand and all are inplace on Thursday, can I hook up with you on Fri / sat? Thx.

I need some macroalgae, too, for the refugium.

What do you think about one bigger cowrie?

Bob
