Hello everyone i just got my sum up and running , and i got tons of Microbbubles, i have tried the sponge on the return pump, and now i place them on the first chamber so when the water goes to the second one there isn't that much flow and pressure. I have a mag 7 return pump can it just be that i have to much flow. The sum is a basic 3 part sump here is a pic. Any suggestions on how to put and end to this. thanks

You could try putting a baffle between the return section baffle and the pump, to double it up in essence, but leave the bottom open. I've found that what it tends to do in my tank is when the bubbles pour down the first baffle, the second one forces the flow upwards, ejecting the bubbles up towards the surface.

Check out Melev's designs and the baffling that he does to reduce bubbles:

it doesn't look like you are using a lot of threaded PVC adapters but if you are, make sure to use Telfon type tape. Also if using a Loc-Line return it needs tape also because it can act as a venturi without. A filter sock will help but adds additional work of having to remove it every 3 days or so put on a clean one and the clean the dirty one, and since i have kids that is never going in the washer.

And also it looked like in his pictures some of the bubbles may be created by the water falling down the baffles to begin with, so that could do it, which the only solution to would be sponges, another baffle, or just keep the water height higher.

I see that you dont have your overflow line in the water in the sump ,try putting it in the water 2to 3 inches that will help alot.

I vote for an additional baffle before the pump. Like ReefWreak says, the water spilling over the end of the fuge section will create bubbles no matter what. Another baffle close to that one, slightly off the bottom will trap the bubbles in that section and away from the pump. Some fuges have a section of bio-balls and/or sponge after the fuge to break up the bubbles, but I wouldn't recommend that. I would keep the drain line above the water line, let it splash, more aeration.

I had a problem with mine went I first setup my tank I ran the tank drain in an overfil box with some rumble rock and it worked great after the tank was up and ruunning for awhile I have no bubbles at all removed the overful box

As far as adding an additional baffle this has been covered before. If you don't wish to drain the tank and add a permanent baffle you can simply cut your glass small and add marine grade weatherstripping around the edge to lock the baffle in place.
