Are microbubbles visible under regular viewing conditions when the room lights are on? I can't figure out if what I have are microbubbles or just a bunch of what appears to be dust particles floating around in my water. I can only see them when the room is dark and I have just the aquarium lights on. I can particulary see them by shining a flashlight through the side of the aquarium and looking through the beam of light from the front, again with the room being completely dark. Does everyone have some of these particels floating around under these conditions? When the pumps are turned off, I can definelty see a few bubbles go to the surface and pop, but the vast majority of what I'm seeing just stay sort of suspended in the aquarium, would microbubbles do that? It almost looks as though someone took a vacuum cleaner bag and shook it out into my aquarium! With an open tank, I would imagine that dust particles do make it into an aquarium. We need to dust our furniture every few weeks, so I would imagine that dust would be entering the aquarium as well. Would dust particles normally be filtered out by a protein skimmer? I don't have anything in my tank as of yet besides pumps and saltwater. Before I put anything into it, I have been trying to rid myself of these microbubbles, but perhaps I'm trying to baffle out dust!
