Mo my new system is set up and I have microbubbles from the return! I am using a mag7 in the middle compartment of this sump:
Water drains into both ends of the sump. The bubbles are created when water flows over the edge of the fuge baffle and falls into the return water. They look pretty large, so I guess the pump sucks them up and "chops" them into tiny bubbles?
I had a few ideas:
1) Raise the level of water in the return section to be nearly equal to the skimmer section baffle height (water falls less distance from fuge, hopefully less bubbles)
2) PVC pipe on the pump intake with a 90 degree elbow pointed down at the end of the pipe (sucking water from the very bottom near the glass, hopefully less bubbles are down there)
3) Wait it out until scum layer builds up on glass and the water "sticks" to the glass better on its way down (the tank is brand new).
Any ideas?
