Midas Blenny - first fish

Is this an ok fish for me to start with? I hope my sand is ok - its tropic eden reef crystals, not superfine by any means.

40b is my tank.

is $50 reasonable?

$50 for Midas Blenny seems kinda high to me. But then again, they have been hard to come by lately, at least in my area.

50 is on par with live aquaria. Midas blenny is a fun first fish, just don't be alarmed when he hides alot at first. Mine has a little hole that he perches in and stays put for the most part

Great fish, but wouldn't be my first fish.

A midas would be a great first fish. They are super easy and great eaters. They have the best personality in my opinion as well.

Get a lid if you do they have a rep for jumping.

I do have a glass lid - my cats would be in the tank otherwise.
