Midas Blenny in reef tank

First post so we'll see how this goes. I have a 55 reef with refugium that's been up for 5+ years. Currently have a yellow tang, yellow damsel and clown and looking to add a few more fish. Will a midas blenny be a problem? How about a pair of them?

Just be sure the top of the tank is well covered. They are escape artists. But they are great fish to keep.

thanks ---- somewhere I read suggested a pair, but I'll start with one and see how it goes. The tank has a hood which covers 3/4 of the sides and I'll add a screen to the back to keep the escape artist in the tank.

I have one in my 40b and it's my favorite fish. I would also only get one of them. You're going to love this fish.

I may be in the minority but I would be hesitant simply because of possible aggression from the 3 current fish (tang, damsel and clown) already existing in the the 55g. Seems like a big risk with 3 fish known to get mean.

My Midas can definitely hold his own. They like to hide in the holes in the rock and keep safe from attackers. I think it will be fine in your tank. Good luck. They are great fish.

Love that fish. I've kept two over my time in reefing - both were really active, always out swimming. Fish one I sold when I sold my tank, second one jumped (even though I had a mesh top - he found the tiny space between the mesh and the sides).
