Midas blenny missing

I have a Midas blenny which has been out and about daily for about 3 months straight and always comes to food. I last saw him on Friday when feeding and since then I haven’t seen no sign of him, my first guess was jumper but I searched around the tank and no sign and I checked the sump thoroughly. Now I’m lost and worried

If the Blenny died for whatever reason, your cleaning crew (especially if you have hermits, nassarius snails or crabs) will likely eat the body before you have a chance to see it. That said, I have a Six Line Wrasse that used to cruise my tanks non-stop. The last week, he's been more reclusive and I only see him every couple of days.

Yes I did think this could happen but I would be more confused onto how such a healthy active fish could suddenly die especially when all the others are thriving. I’m hoping he re appears over the next couple days

Did you look in the overflow? In a previous tank, I had a Royal Gramma that ended up in the overflow at lease once a month

Hopefully, your Blenny is just in hiding. Prior to him disappearing, did you notice any aggression towards him from the other fish? Speaking of other fish, what other fish do you have in the tank?

Yes I have thoroughly looked through the overflow but had no luck finding him. He shares a tank with a female clown and a royal gramma, but there has been no aggression shown towards him, in fact they always seem to be together.

Okay, all peaceful fish. Was this a wild caught fish or aquacultured? Do you quarantine fish before putting them in your display tank?
