I bought JJ's other De-Nitrator, same brand, it does work wonderfully!! I would highly recommend this to anyone that is having high nitrate problems they can't seem to solve. It solved mine in a week! It is almost set it and forget it. although if the flow stops you have to clean the lines every couple of months.

I agree they are definitely a nice thing to have if you have nitrate issues. My tank ended up getting rid of them on there own eventially but this thing brought it down to ~1 in a few weeks time when I first hooked them up.
