milk and honey

Did anyone have any experience or more info on this milk and honey regimen from Taiwan guy?? I assume milk is sps food and honey is form of carbon dosing?? Is this right?? Is anyone using this in practice yet and testing this??

I wonder what steak would do? Kidding, I am pretty sure someone broke it down and based on that reading identified that milk would not be beneficial. Honey would be a form of carbon dosing.

But If it does I would like to hear why also. Maybe post in the Chemistry forum and see what Randy and others say.

Ya I read soy milk and then I read whole milk. I know randy is really against sugars glucose for carbon dosing as it was supposed to have neg effect on some corals. Now is honey different than sugar?? One is refined differently I guess.

I thought I read that the milk was very difficult to control, and just a little too much could have a significant negative effect. Honey would be just like sugar. Only issue with honey and it probably is not an issue is honey has an antibacterial affect, if I'm not mistaken.

Hello,
Milk is a source of amino acid and honney carbon source, particularly not use honey as a carbon source in the tank I think it is dangerous for the system.

regards

A year back, when my kid was one, apparently I paid more attention to the fish tank than the family so the wife dump the whole bottle of formula into the tank.

There is copper in the ingredients list, but needless to say we all learned our lesson :). I think corals were irritated but all survived.

so no meaningful comment, but remember to treat your reef like a mistress. Put her in a secret room and visit her only at night.

:) I'm with u been through girlfriends now wife with attention issues lol

Noted. Got my first on the way. Wife has been tolerant of the hobby thus far. I should tread lightly. Buy anything major before the little one arrives. Make sure my stocking list is complete

I tried with whole milk but didn't see color change. However I had some ALK swing at that time and I added reefbrite led to my ATI T5. Hard to tell.

And the guy never really answers direct questions about this technique. Makes it suspicious.

Exactly... It seems to me that he has a beautiful tank no doubt to that, but these colors are exaggerated and I see this as sort of a joke, "Look at these people in the US pouring milk and #*%^ in their tanks trying to get it to look like mine."

He takes forever to respond on this forum and on the others in the link and is very vague and seems to have "friends" that stop by to answer for him... Hmmmmmmmmm makes ya' wonder does it?
