Hey guys,
I have a Milwaukee refractometer that I have been using for months now. I always have a s.g. of 1.026. I checked the sea water solution it came with and that measures correct as well. 35 ppt. So I went to calibrate my conductivity probe to have that at an accurate reading. When I read the conductivity I get about 34.7 ppt of my tank water. I put it in the calibration solution and get 35 ppt. Just for giggles I said let me look at the calibration solution 53,000 siemens with the refractometer. That should give me 35 ppt as well. Well I keep getting 26 ppt (1.019 s.g.). I tried a new packet and thought maybe that one was contaminated with fresh water. Again 26 ppt (1.019 s.g.)
When I look online 53,0000 usiemens should equal 35 ppt. What am I missing here?
Thanks
