min thickness for glass sump baffle

i am making a new sump to fit a new skimmer. i was wondering how thick i should get the glass for the baffles.

also what caulking is safe to use in a sump? i used caulking from a lfs before but they jack the price way up, and i know home depot or something must carry the same stuff.. or close to it.

I used 1/4 inch glass for the baffles in my sump. GE makes a silicone that you can use. If I was at home I could tell you exactly which one. If you google it I think you will see the aquarium safe one.
