Mineral Mud in established tank

I recently set up a sump with a refugium and was interested in using mineral mud. Is there a way to do this without removing all the animals from my tank as the directions say? I have far too many things to remove for this to be possible.

Probably not, unless you didn't connect the sump/fuge to the DT for at least a week to let things settle. If you were setting up a new sump then it would be as simple as putting sand over the mud, but alas.

Sorry, I have some mineral mud in my sump and I can tell you from experience that it keeps the water cloudy for a while.
